The following are the different lens technologies available:

  • Monofocal Lenses (Aspheric/Non Aspheric) which corrects the patient’s short-sightedness (myopia) or far-sightedness (hyperopia).

  • Toric Monofocal Lenses which corrects the patient’s short-sightedness (myopia) or far-sightedness (hyperopia) and in addition, corrects the patient’s astigmatism.

  • Multifocal Lenses which corrects the patient’s short-sightedness (myopia) or far-sightedness (hyperopia) and in addition, corrects the patient’s old-sightedness (presbyopia). This type of implants are suited for patients who are very motivated to be independent of spectacles for distance and reading vision.

  • Multifocal Toric Lenses which corrects the patient’s short-sightedness (myopia) or far-sightedness (hyperopia) and in addition, corrects both the patient’s old-sightedness (presbyopia) and astigmatism. This type of implants are suited for patients who are very motivated to be independent of spectacles for distance and reading vision but have astigmatism.

  • Trifocal Lenses which corrects the patient’s short-sightedness (myopia) or far-sightedness (hyperopia) and in addition, corrects both the patient’s intermediate vision (computer vision) and reading vision (presbyopia). This type of implants are suited for patients who are very motivated to be independent of spectacles for distance, intermediate and reading vision.

  • Extended Depth of Focus Lenses which are also designed for patients who desire to correct distance, near (reading) and intermediate vision at the same time. It functions like a Trifocal lens but uses a different technology.
