Norethisterone is a type of hormonal medication which contains the hormone called progesterone.

This is commonly prescribed by doctors to women who wish to delay their periods due to travelling etc.

While this medication is relatively safe to consume, some common side effects experienced may include bloating, headaches or slight water retention and weight gain. Of course with any medication, there may also be a slight risk of drug allergy.

This should also not be taken if there is any chance of pregnancy.

If you are consuming this medication once off and just for a short period of time, it should not cause any major issues. Of course please speak to your doctor to ascertain if this medication is safe or appropriate for you to use.

Is it safe for people with thyroid problems to taken vitamins, especially vitamin A? (photo)

Thank you for the question. It is generally safe to take vitamin supplements if you have thyroid disease, including vitamin A. For the treatment of acne, a vitamin A analogue, isotretinoin is often prescribed. This is indicated for individuals with moderate to severe acne. It is generally safe to take isotretinoin in individuals with thyroid problems. There are however rare reports on the association of isotretinoin with thyroid disease like autoimmune thyroiditis, although a definite link has not been conclusively established.

Why does the tip of my penis hurt when pressure is applied?

There are two possible explanations: first, it could be a normal experience. Second, if there are other signs, one may also need to entertain the possibility of infection like urethritis. In terms of sensitivity to touch and stimulation, most men find the heads of their penises to be the most sensitive. The urinary meatus may especially be senstive to pain when touched. Many men also like their scrotums stimulated during foreplay. Another area of sensitivity for many men is the perineum, the area between the scrotum and the rectum.
