Question
Food poisoning typically presents with the following symptoms:
Both gastric flu can and food poisoning may present with similar symptoms and difficult to differentiate although the former tends to present more with fever, nausea and vomiting while the latter is associated with ingestion of contaminated food that cause cramps and diarrhoea most times. As far as treatment is concerned, adequate hydration is the most important aspect besides controlling symptoms. In some cases, a course of antibiotics may be required for suspected bacteria infection especially if the fever is associated with blood stain stools.
Hi Thanu There is always a reason for your body to develop a fever. The important thing is to find out what is the cause of the fever and treat the underlying cause, rather than just the fever itself. A very high fever on its own can also cause other problems like brain damage (especially in very young children). That is why I recommend seeing a doctor and let the doctor examine you to find out what is the reason you are having the fever, and treat you accordingly. He may even have to run some blood tests if he suspects diseases like Dengue or Zika.
