What food should I avoid for my acne prone skin?
Over the recent years, food factors have been shown to contribute to acne flares.
The 2 main food groups aggravating acne are:
1. High glycemic index foods. These include high sugar content food, fruit juices, soft drinks, desserts, sweet snacks, etc
2. Dairy products such as cheese, etc
However, your cystic acne is likely due primarily to genetic factors. While avoiding the above foods may help, it alone will unlikely improve your cystic acne significantly. Do seek effective medical treatment early to reduce the skin inflammation and reduce potential scarring.
