It is good to hear you have had some response to the treatments you have received so far.

Most scientific studies on TCA cross recommend treatment at 2-weekly intervals for 4-8 sittings, with follow up at the 3rd and 6th month.

I would suggest you return to your doctor who performed the treatment for you as he/she would be best to advise on whether you need continued treatment or any change in treatment regime/technique. In addition, the other atrophic scars (rolling, box car) on the cheeks may be targeted using a combination of scar treatment modalities in addition to TCA cross.

I would highly recommend a combination approach for best results. Do consider energy based devices such as lasers and RF, subcision and fillers as well.

Does Nimegen have the same effects as Accutane? Does it cause worse breakouts or bigger pores?

It’d definitely help to highlight all these worries you have during the consult with your doctor, so that he can take your concerns into consideration, and advise as necessary. He’ll always be the best person to advise you, as compared to any online source. Eg if I googled online about any medication, I’m sure I’ll find a million and one horrible things that could happen. In answer to your questions: Yes Nimegen = Accutane = isotretinoin (it’s the active ingredient in both), hence side effects will be the same.

Where can I get Accutane in Singapore?

Hello Serena, you could try the NSC – they have it at a subsidised rate, but you will need a referral letter from a clinic, which takes some time. Otherwise it will be a private rate.
