What is the best treatment to remove milia seeds under the eye?Skin, Hair & Nails Aesthetic Medicine
Hello, I have had milia seeds around both under-eye areas since my teenage years, but have never thought of them as an issue considering their sizes then. However, it seems that some of them have grown more prominent in the recent years, and I am very conscious of them now.
Are there any treatment(s) and/or procedure(s) I can go for to remove them completely? Thereafter, are there any products I could use to prevent them from growing once more?
Thank you 🙂
to add on, I had a longstanding milia seed under my left eye removed with a C02 laser, as Dr Irenaeus explained. It sort of gets “burnt off” – not painful at all!
I was very happy with the results – didn’t leave any scar. Although I have to give the caveat that ANY procedure always has a chance of scarring, however small it may be.
To prevent them from recurring, Dr Irenaeus’s advise is spot on.
Early SUPERFICIAL milia can be removed by tropical tretinoin creams and chemical peels. Deep milia seeds are removed by
- Ablative laser eg CO2 lasers
- Incision and expression
Yes it’s very important to PREVENT recurrence, especially if you are prone to having milia seeds. Products causing milia seeds include sunscreen and makeup; basically anything that CLOGS up your pores.
Hence its good to remove your makeup and sunscreen well by “double washing” your face. This means:
STEP 1: Using a cleansing oil to remove make-up and sunscreen
STEP 2: Foam cleanser that is suitable for your skin type
