What is the difference between truSculpt iD and Vanquish in decreasing post-pregnancy belly?

Doctor's Answers 1

Both Trusculpt ID and Vanquish ME are radio frequency devices designed to **treat unwanted/excess fat non surgically.
**

  • Trusculpt ID is a later generation device that uses Monopolar RF with 6 Handpieces each 40 cm sq that are placed in contact with the treated area. There are direct temperature monitoring and feedback of the surface skin that ensures that the desired temperature for fat destruction is achieved without the risk of skin burns.

Each treatment only takes 15 minutes and results can be seen after one to two sessions about 8-12 weeks after the session.

  • Vanquish ME, on the other hand, uses a contactless selective focus field RF to deliver the RF energy to destroy the fat. It requires a minimum of at least 4 sessions or more each done one week apart to achieve fat reduction results.

Both devices can be used to treat post-pregnancy belly and both are painless with no social downtime.

Is Retinol Acid (Vitamin A) cream safe for pregnant women or women who are trying to get pregnant?

Hi, It is important to distinguish between Retinol (commercially available) and Retinoic acid (prescription medication e. g. retin-A). Retinol is a natural form of vitamin A. It's found in many skin care treatments and beauty products. Upon application, enzymes within the skin convert retinol into retinoic acid. It's only when it is converted to retinoic acid that it becomes effective. Retinol is safe to use during pregnancy. Retinoic acid is the synthetic form of vitamin A. The oral form is absolutely contraindicated in pregnancy as it will cause birth defects.

What are the best methods to treat vitiligo at my lips?

Vitiligo is a condition which is due to the loss of melanocytes or pigment cells in the skin. This leads to the skin appearing white or depigmented. Vitiligo can affect the skin and oral mucosa and the lip is an area that is not uncommonly affected. Simple protective measure like using a lip balm with SPF may be helpful to protect the lip from the sun. Indeed, the loss of pigment can reduce the natural protection of the lips from the sun. Topical steroids can be used to help in the re-pigmentation of the lips.
