Which aesthetic treatments are best for controlling oily skin?

Doctor's Answer

A good skincare regime as Dr Phua mentioned is key.

I would suggest a gel based moisturiser, or serum with a very light sunblock to be the backbone of your skin care regime. You can use retinoids or differin (adalapene) to improve the skin turnover topically. Adding a light AHA or BHA peel occasionally will be useful in reducing oil secretion as well.

Treatment wise, a regular Hydrafacial or Carbon Laser will help improve the skin oiliness.

But i am still a fan of Accutane for patients with extremely oily skin. Do consider it, and discuss with your doctor WHY you don't want Accutane as there are a lot of misconceptions surrounding the medication
