Who are some recommended doctors for spider vein treatment in Singapore?
Hi, I would like to seek treatment for the spider veins on my legs, and would like to find out if there are any recommended doctors with reasonable charges for treatments like Sclerotherapy as there are a number of specialist clinics (including national skin centre) that offer vein treatments.
Thank you, and hope to hear from you soon!
Both sclerotherapy and long pulse ND-Yag are good treatment options. The clinical studies so far show that sclerotherapy is slightly more effective and may take fewer sessions.
However, sclerotherapy can be accompanied by risks such as allergic reaction, embolism and infection. These are almost unheard of with the long pulse laser. Long pulse ND-Yag also happens to be safe for all skin types, and is a good alternative for those who are afraid of needles, allergic to sclerosant or who have very small veins.
Hope this helps.
Spider veins can be treated with sclerotherapy or laser treatment (ND Yag laser), if they are small enough.
Sclerotherapy is typically done by vascular surgeons, dermatologists, plastic surgeons and occasionally, aesthetic doctors in Singapore.
As it is a cosmetic procedure, you’ll still be paying a private rate even at public institutions, like the NSC.
The cost of sclerotherapy in Singapore usually ranges from $500/session onwards. Hard to give you a good gauge, as it will also depend on the extent of spider veins that need treatment, the doctor’s fee for consultation, and ultrasound testing of your veins.
