Why do I always have phlegm when I wake up?

That is an interesting question. There can be many reasons, but one of the common ones are nasal allergies. The phelgm from the nose flows down to the throat when you sleep.

The next one is acid reflux from the stomach. The stomach acid comes up through the food pipe and becomes phelgm in the throat. If it really is bothering you a lot, you should check it out with your GP.

Please see a doctor to discuss and evaluate possible causes. In patients who are “well” and with history of “sensitive nose”, it usually is a cause of post-nasal drip whereby mucus accumulated over night “backflows” to the throat and causes the sensation of the phlegm. However, issues like infections can also cause phlegm and thus it is still best evaluated by a medical professional.

What could be possible causes of thick phlegm with fever? (photo)

Dear Sir, I suspect that everyone has experienced what you are experiencing and have probably asked the same question as you have at some stage in their life. Fever usually indicates that there is an infection. Thick phlegm is usually made up of mucus and inflammatory exudates. While any inflamed mucosal lining (nose, sinus, throat, and lower airways) may produce phlegm during inflammation and infection, the quantity and location of what is seen in the picture suggests that it comes from the nose, sinus, and nasopharynx (the uppermost part of the throat where there is adenoidal tissue).

How do I tell if I have gynaecomastia or just chest fat?

Gynaecomastia is different from simply being manboobs; there is a glandular component in addition to a fat component. This breast glandular tissue needs to be removed in order to have a complete correction. If you have gynaecomastia, you should be able to feel a firm breast disc. To determine this definitively, your doctor will suggest for an ultrasound.
