Common symptoms of haemorrhoids include:

  • Feeling a lump around your anus or buttocks
  • Itching around the anus
  • Burning sensation in the anus after passing stools
  • Seeing bright red blood on the toilet paper after wiping or in the toilet bowl
  • Seeing bright red blood drip into the toilet

Haemorrhoids can sometimes recover on its on with treatment not required in most cases, should one experience bleeding during a bowel movement, however, they should go to see their doctor. Haemmorrhoids may be treated through:

  • Oral and topical medication
  • Rubber band ligation
  • Sclerotherapy
  • Surgical removal
