Most of the time, symptoms do not show itself in the early stages of prostate cancer as this disease, like most cancers, usually presents little to no symptoms until mid or later stages. More advanced prostate cancers however, can show symptoms such as:

  • Weakened or swollen lower limbs
  • Lumps on your prostate gland
  • Urinary problems
  • Waking up to urinate at night (Nocturia)
  • Interrupted urination
  • Pain during ejaculation
  • Bone pain, especially when during the night and it wakes you up from your sleep. This is a sign of bone metastases (e.g. prostate cancer that has spread to the bone).

One should immediately seek medical advice from their doctor should they experience any of the above signs as most of these symptoms are much likely to be also caused by, or point to something other than prostate cancer.
