I just want to be prepared...

Meet Veronica Yap, a medical healthcare specialist with 20 years of experience under her belt. She’s a certified therapist who specialises in helping patients with Lymphatic Disorders through therapy.

We all have a lymphatic system in our bodies. It’s a network of tissues and organs that help rid the body of toxins, waste, and other unwanted materials. This is how our body keep the our fluids in balance and defending us against diseases.

If you have a lymphatic disorder, this system becomes blocked and stops functioning normally. When that happens, fluid builds up in your tissue spaces between your muscles and skin. The result of this is chronic swelling. This condition is called Lymphoedema.

There are 4 different stages, and if you leave it untreated, it can lead to other complications. While there are no complete cures available in standard medical practice, Veronica and her team has developed a range of integrated therapies that consistently and effectively relieves our patients symptoms.

Lymphatic diseases have considerable public health significance, yet not many professionals are specialised in their management. Veronica is passionate about raising awareness for this condition because early detection and management yields the best outcomes.

Veronica Yap held an AMA on Wednesday, 19 December 2018 at 5:00 pm to answer Human member questions on Lymphatic Disorders. Read her answers here.
