Dear Reader,

As a Western doctor, I do not know of any TCM remedies that can help to
treat COVID-19 specifically. However, neither do my TCM practitioner
friends. Some TCM concoctions may help in treating flu and fever symptoms
but I would not recommend them as prevention or treatment measures.

Best regards

What TCM treatments are available for gastric problems causing bloating and stomach discomfort?

From the TCM point of view, gastric problems are closely related to the function of spleen and stomach. These two organs are responsible for the transformation and transportation of the food that we consume. When the spleen and stomach is weakened, it can lead to many digestive issues such as bloated, diarrhoea, constipation, stomach-ache, ingestion etc. In TCM, the most common treatment for these internal problems would be herbal medicine. Herbal medicines are prescribed according to each patient's body constitution.

How can TCM help with vertigo and nausea? (photo)

Vertigo refers to the feeling of having a dizzy sensation. In TCM, it is categorized as "眩晕“(xuan yun). Patients often feel dizzy and get better when they close their eyes or when they rest. In severe cases, they may feel that their world is spinning, causing them to lose balance, feel nauseous and/or vomiting. In TCM point of view, dizziness is often related to the phlegm and dampness accumulated in your body. The phlegm and dampness cause your qi and blood in the body not being able to flow smoothly to your head, thus causing dizziness.
