Are red, painful bumps on my nipple a cause for concern?

Thank you for the question. Unfortunately, I think the picture is not clear enough for a proper assessment. In general, if the bump is due to a pimple, it will come and go and is not usually persistent. A cyst or a malignant growth is usually persistent and may slowly increase in size. It is best for you to see your doctor for a proper assessment if the bump is persistent.

Dyshidrotic eczema presents with tiny vesicles or bubbles on the feet and/or hands and these can be very itchy and sometimes painful. This tends to be symmetrical and usually affects both feet and/or hands. Fungal infection usually presents with scaly rashes on the feet. However, they can also present with bubbles and vesicles and this is termed an id reaction. This can look very similar to dyshidrotic eczema. When in doubt, a fungal scrape can be done to confirm or rule out a fungal infection.
