How much more effective is Pico laser over platelet-rich plasma therapy and micro-needling when treating rosacea?

Doctor's Answers 1

Hi,

Both are not recommended therapies for rosacea.

A. The inflammatory component of rosacea is best treated with applications such as topical metronidazole, topical ivermectin, oral doxycycline and oral isotretinoin.

B. The vascular component of rosacea is best treated with topical mirvaso, IPL and pulsed-dye laser.

Pico-lasers are essentially pigment lasers but in the fractionated mode that can be used to treat acne scars and to stimulate the formation of neo-collagen.

Microneedling is used primarily to treat acne scars and to stimulate neo-collagen formation.

Platelet-rich plasma therapy is not approved by the Singapore Medical Council for aesthetic use.

Hope this helps!
