Should I go for nose threadlift or nose fillers in Singapore?

Doctor's Answers 6

This will depend on your nose bridge. For those with a very flat nose bridge I generally recommend a combination treatment of nose fillers and nose threadlift. The nose threadlift on its own is great for nose contouring and definition, but as mentioned by Dr Chua has its own limitations in terms of volume and height.

For those who already have a certain nose bridge height but are keen on improving and further enhancing the nose, the nose threadlift alone will be a good option.

Most of the other pros and cons have been well listed by the other doctors.

Cost wise, the combination of nose fillers and threadlift ranges between $1300-$1800.

The best way would be to visit a doctor so that he/she can have a look at your nose and discuss about your desired final result in order to give appropriate advice :)

Hope this helps!

Hello Janice

Thank you for your question.

The pros of nose threadlifts are as follows:

  • ability to give the nose more contour and definition
  • less likely to broaden the nose bridge overtime
  • no risk of blindness or skin necrosis

The cons of nose threadlift are as follows:

  • risk of thread migration/ extrusion/ infection
  • may not last as long as some of the non-hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers

Personally I prefer using nose threadlift, as opposed to nose fillers due to the reasons above. The potential risks of nose threadlift can be minimised if the procedure is done using proper techniques in a sterile environment.

The price of nose threadlifts and nose fillers in Singapore depends on a few factors:

  • type of thread/ filler used (HA vs non HA filler)
  • number of threads/ syringes (filler) used

Generally you can nose threadlifts in Singapore cost around 600-900 SGD.

Nose filler (HA) in Singapore can cost around 600-900 SGD for 1 syringe. Non-HA nose filler like Radiesse or Ellanse will cost upwards of 1000SGD. Speak to a doctor to find out more. All the best!

Thanks Dr Wu for his answer. I shall not rehash the same.

My preference is threads because it can be made to look natural and tends not to broaden the nose bridge unlike fillers that spread laterally.

Safety wise, I like to put a moderate number of threads and review in one week to see if more threads are needed to augment.

Best to ask your doctor during the consultation!

Both doctors are right in that threadlifts are safer in general. However threads have their limitations when it comes to adding volume and height, as well as to contour the nose accurately (e.g. nose humps or dents). In those scenarios, a filler would be more useful.

I would suggest finding a doctor who is comfortable with both to assess your request and offer individualized advice. Aesthetic medicine is very personalized and solutions and costs depend on each individual's concern.

Pros of nose threadlifts:

1. No chance of blindness or necrosis

2. Gives a more defined nose (the highlighter look that make up artists perform)

3. Fast and easy for experienced doctors

Cons of nose threadlifts:

1. High level of technicality involved (high complication rate in inexperienced doctors) including thread extrusion, migration , perforation into nasal cavity , infection

2. Lasts only 9-12 months (PDO threads), 12-24 months (PCL threads seen overseas)

Pros of Nose Fillers:

1. Able to give a higher height to nose bridge

2. Good shaping can be done with experienced hands

3. Small area shaping is much easier (dents, humps etc) - however I can do that easily also with short threads so not really an issue

Cons of nose fillers:

1. BLINDNESS

2. SKIN NECROSIS

3. AVATAR NOSE (however can be minimized by using Ellanse or Radiesse)

Nose fillers costs in Singapore start from $800 (Hyaluronic Acid ) - $2400 (Ellanse lasting 4 years).

Nose threadlifts pricing in Singapore starts from $800 - $1600.

Building a beautiful nose is like building a beautiful home. It requires time and energy.

In the past, noses were shaped with fillers, but along came the complications hence fillers are no longer as popular.

In experienced hands, depending on your nose shape and desired result, a careful combination of fillers and threads gives you the best results.

I hope this helps.

How much do fillers cost in Singapore for nose bridge and laughing lines?

The cost of the areas mentioned depends on the number of syringes of fillers needed. (Do take note that nose fillers have fallen out of fashion due to a risk of blindness – nowadays we use nose threads for a better and safer result).
