How do I treat whiteheads at my cheeks and jawline?

You can consider chemical peels as an addition to the retinoids. This will help with 'releasing' the comedones without requiring painful extractions. Chemical peels, when performed by doctors, are very safe. Cheers!

Can nose fillers and nose threadlift be used together?

Yes both the nose thread lift and nose fillers can be combined in the same treatment setting for synergistic results. It will depend on what your current nose profile looks like and the kind of augmentation that works best for you. For most patients, I find that a little fillers enhance the improvement from the nose threadlift. However, there are situations where I find that nose fillers or thread lifts alone are adequate.

Will I have to use Differin for life if I'm prone to comedones?

1) Is there such a thing as Differin dependence: No. 2) Will your acne worsen as you wean yourself off medication? Yes, that can happen. So first of all your medications have to be weaned off gradually and your doctor may overlap your oral medications with topical medications during this period to cut down or totally stop your oral medications. Treatment of comedonal acne isn't so straightforward; it can require a more holistic treatment for example, with changing your skin care and combination treatment with chemical peels and lasers.

Acne scar treatments such as fractional CO2 laser can also cause scarring if there is active ace and secondly; ongoing acne can cause new scars to form. PCOS is a condition that troubles many when it comes together with acne as the local skin factors are also affected by systemic hormonal issues. Besides oral contraceptives, anti-adrogenic medications like Spironolactone can be helpful.

Do fillers have to be performed by doctors in Singapore?

I will answer your question in 2 parts: 1) How to tell if the practitioner is a doctor 2) How to tell if the doctor is trained to perform filler injections. With regards to the first part, you can search the Singapore Medical Council register of registered doctors online (https://prs. moh. gov. sg/prs/internet/profSearch/main. action? hpe=SMC). Alternatively, you can ask your doctor to show his/her Singapore Medical Council registration card or certificate.

What's the next step if I suspect that my acne, irregular periods and weight gain is due to hormones?

It is true that hormonal derangements can cause acne, irregular periods and weight gain. One common cause is polycystic ovaries (PCOS); although even thyroid hormone imbalances can cause similar problems. Rather than speculate, I would suggest a consultation with a doctor (as acne is very complex). I would also do blood investigations to evaluate your hormone levels first and possibly imaging scans as needed. Hormone balancing is also another complex issue, as your body's hormone levels are interlinked.
