About Dr Yanni Xu

Dr Yanni graduated with the second highest score in her year from King’s College London School of Medicine, winning both the silver medal and Todd’s award. She gave the valedictorian speech at her graduation and went on to become one of the first Clinician scientist residents in OBGYN in Singapore.

Her passion for aesthetics drew her away from the public sector and she has spent the last few years training new staff, developing new skin cares formulations and new laser programs for her previous practice. Her greatest passion is still her patients and she promises to deliver medical’s best secrets in beauty to all her patients.

My favorite! Followed her from a previous clinic and now, she has her very own, The Urban Clinic. As a doctor, she is very knowledgeble, professional, gentle and patient. She does not only treat my eczema, but also educated me more about my skin issues and how best to manage it. ...

Hi! A proper examination is necessary! Many patients have skin tags and seborrheic keratoses on neck and that only requires 1 session of electrocautery with the Ellman surgitron. Could also be freckles or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation i.e. acne marks and we will use p...

HI! If it's specifically jaw sculpting, I'll like to recommend botox jawline slimming for the massaters and HIFU (High intensity focused ultrasound). In combination, these procedures lift the lower face and give more definition to jawline. They are also one time treatments and re...

HI! The process of removing skin tags usually requires us to use an energy based device or laser to ablate (or burn) the skin tag. Done by an inexperienced operator, it can leave dark marks (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) or dented (atrophied) scars. On the other hand, done by an expe...

HI! We will all experience resorption of bone and loss of fat pad as we age; so most of us will experience a receded chin! There are generally 2 options. 1. A chin implant with a plastic surgeon 2. Injection of fillers into the chin for augmentation. As I am not a pl...

Hi! The picture is not very clear. Does this pigment appear on both sides of the face? A proper history of the pigment and your medical history is important. Your pigment does look like melasma though it is less common in males. Melasma is a life long condition and pro...

Hi! Laser removal of eyebrow embroidery is a common procedure in clinic. We recommend picosure laser removal of the eyebrow tattoo at our clinic. The number of sessions required to remove the tattoo depends on the type of ink used, the skill set of the therapist who designed t...

Hi! Marks especially burns on legs can last very long. The longest lasting mark that I have seen was scratch marks (from mosquito bites) that lasted 3 years. The best results for topical treatment for burn is those that had been started right after the burn/scabs have healed. A g...

Hi! Seborrheic keratosis is a benign, non cancerous growth on the skin. All raised lesions that has changed over a short duration of time should still be checked by a doctor before removal. We use the Ellman surgitron electrocautery system to remove the lesions. It is done und...

Hi! Your doctor should be informed of your skin care regime so that he/she can give you the correct instructions prior to the procedure. In general, we recommend patients to stop differin for a few days before and after peels. This is because differin may worsen post procedure dryness and also i...

Hi! This is a lentigene/sun spot. It is on the most sun exposed area of your face so it is caused by sun damage. The sun damage is from years ago but applying sunblock correctly and on a daily basis will help to prevent other pigmentation from appearing. Sun spots are generall...
