How does abnormal penile torsion affect fertility?

Doctor's Answer

Penile torsion is the rotation of the penis on its own axis, most often in the counter-closewise direction. It is a congenital condition, affecting 1-12% of newborns.

Most of the time, the torsion is mild (<90 degrees) and does not affect the boy and does not need treatment.

Penile torsion does not affect fertility. Treatment is usually for cosmetic reasons.
