Are the results of an STD test revealed to anyone?

Doctor's Answer

Under the Infectious Diseases Act in Singapore, certain STIs, such as syphilis, gonorrhoea, and herpes requires notification to MOH.

However, only basic information such as:

  • Age
  • Gender
  • Nationality

is reported. This helps to prevent the spread of infectious disease.

Details such as your name, date of birth, and address are not required, and therefore not reported to the Ministry of Health.

However, there's an exception for HIV infection or AIDS. In this scenario, the additional identifying details are required to be submitted as well.
