Can I use my parents' Medisave to pay for surgery?

Doctor's Answer

Your parents can use their MediSave monies to help pay for approved treatments. Account-holders can use their MediSave to pay for their own treatments or for dependents as approved by the CPF. These dependents include:

  • Spouse
  • Children
  • Parents
  • Grandparents
  • Siblings

You should check if the healthcare provider from whom you wish to get surgery falls under the list of approved medical institutions. You can check the list here.

Do take note that there are limits to using your MediSave to pay for certain treatments.

If you wish to find out more information, you can check out CPF's website here or speak with your healthcare provider.
