What corrections/operations do I need to get to even my eyes out and make eyelid height/crease symmetrical?

Doctor's Answer

Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, I'm unable to make a good diagnosis based on the photos. An in-person consultation or tele-consultation (in the current circuit breaker situation) would be necessary to establish the cause for the uneven eyelid height and asymmetrical creases.

From the photos, you have a nice outer eyelid crease and it does appear that there are excess eyelid skin and multiple folds on the left upper eyelid. There could also be a drooping of the right upper eyelid and a sunken depression over both upper eyelids. However, I would need to confirm that with a formal examination. We would also need to know if you have any previous eye surgery or problems.

For correction of the left upper eyelid multiple skin creases and for symmetricalision of the creases, a non-incision suture blepharoplasty may be an option if you do not have too much excess skin. This procedure has minimal downtime and recovery is fast. However, there are limitations to this procedure. Skin is not removed and minimal fat excision can be done.

If we need skin excision or correction of the droopy right eye, then an incisional blepharoplasty with ptosis correction would be the ideal procedure to correct both the problems. Correction of the ptosis can help with the sunken appearance as well.

Hope this helps. Have a great week ahead!
