The treatment of female pattern baldness includes topical minoxidil, oral spironolactone and low level light therapy. Treatment results are variable and are not permanent. Hair loss recurs after successful treatment is stopped.
More severe FPB may be treated by surgical hair transplantation. The results of surgical hair transplantation are permanent.
