Thanks for your question. Your concern is not uncommon. I agree with Dr Theng that it is essential to exclude other skin pathologies that may present similar to acne such as keratosis pilaris (build up of keratin that might be associated with eczema) and pityrosporom folliculitis (yeast/ fungal infection). Treatment is therefore different from acne vulgaris caused by propionibacterium acnes (bacteria).
Treatment of acne involves firstly understanding your current skin care regime and suggesting changes if necessary, followed by treating the acne proper with topical creams vs oral medications - antibiotics and vitamin A, depending on severity.
