How can I get rid of blackheads on my nose?

Doctor's Answer

Hi,

Blackheads on the nose are best treated with the regular application of topical tretinoin or differin. These topical medications unblock the pores and reduce the retention of sebum that causes the blackheads. It often takes 6-8 weeks before results are evident.

Aternatively, regular physical removal (blackhead extraction by manual expression or suction extraction) by an aesthetician will also help.

As blackheads will recur after initial successful removal, continued maintenance treatment is needed to maintain a blackhead-less complexion.

The use of adhesive pore strips tend to irritate the skin with repeated usage and hence cannot be recommended wholeheartedly.

Hope this helps.
