How can I get the best results after TransPRK?

Doctor's Answer

Hi Jamie

Getting the best results after any refractive surgery including TransPRK depends on a number of factors. Very importantly, you need a proper evaluation as to suitability before surgery, as well as accurate power measurements before surgery. You need a good surgeon with good facilities, and good follow up care as well to make sure any problems are dealt with expeditiously.

Using the computer a lot is quite standard nowadays across most industries. Usually, doing so does not damage the eyes and should not affect the spectacle power in adults.

The main issue is that staring at computers for too long at a stretch makes the eyes dry and tired. If so, it is good to take a short break of a few minutes from time to time, and perhaps put some artificial tears in the eyes.

Computer glasses are not necessary unless you are above 40, and having trouble with near vision (Presbyopia or Lao Hua in Chinese).

Do consult your eye doctor if you are having any specific eye issues, eg with visual blurring etc.
