Hope that you are recovering well! The most important step to prevent a raw wound from scarring is to prevent infection. This is because infections will worsen the inflammation which will cause further damage to your skin. Please apply antiseptic/antibiotic creams to prevent infection!
Once your wound has healed and scabbed, it is important to apply moisturiser and sunblock to prevent post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation (darkening of skin).
If possible, it is best to avoid the sun until your scar has fully faded. Hope that this helps!
