Thanks for the question. It is difficult to know the cause of the white residue on the lips without seeing it, but it may be due to flakes on the lips.
This is related to dry lips, or even eczema of the lips. Peeling off these flakes will damage the lip barrier and cause it to crack more or fissure.
- Try using lip balms regularly
- Avoid licking the lips as this can aggravate the dryness
- Also refrain from peeling the skin off
Hopefully, these measures will help. If this is still persistent despite the above measures, you may want to consult your doctor to see if there is an underlying cause or lip eczema.
