How do I get rid of pimples at my butt?

Doctor's Answer

Hi, pimple-like lesions on the buttock is often due to folliculitis or inflammation of the hair follicles. In some individuals, there is a tendency for this to be recurrent.

Wearing loose clothing may help to avoid irritation to the area which may aggravate the condition.

In mild cases, keeping the area clean with an antiseptic cleanser and treatment with topical antibiotics may be sufficient.

In more severe cases, a course oral antibiotics may require. A more prolonged course of antibiotics like doxycycline may be required in the event that the lesions are persistent and recurrent.

The bumps often settle with marks or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and these marks may take months before it gradually fades away.

Do see your doctor/dermatologist if your problem is persistent for a proper examination and treatment.
