How effective are spermicide condoms if we did not use it from the start?

Doctor's Answer

Any unprotected vaginal intercourse carries the possibility of pregnancy. This is so as the pre-ejaculatory fluid (“pre-cum”) may have sperms.

If the concern is unwanted pregnancy, condoms with spermicide should be used before any vaginal penetrative sex. Having said that, condoms are never 100% preventive of conception.
