How effective is Coolsculpt for losing tummy fats after childbirth?

Doctor's Answer

Coolsculpting is one of the more popular brands of cryoliposis. All cryolipolysis machines use generally use the same technique of using cold plates with a suction applicator to cause cold injury to fat cells. It is an option for those who will not consider any other option except non invasive techniques. It is not without discomfort but most would generally say it is tolerable. The other devices that may produce equivalent results are machines that use other forms of energy to lyse fat cells such as radiofrequency, HIFU, lasers etc.

The basis of long time effectives of these procedures are appropriate dietary, exercise and lifestyle habits. And in general, as far as efficacy and price-benefit ratio is concerned, liposuction is still the gold standard. There are many refinements to technique and patient preparation and post surgical management to reduce downtime.

Lastly, I have had a few post pregnancy patients complaining about persistent tummy fat, flabbiness or laxity who actually had abdominal musculo-fascial weakness. The treatment for this is will not be coolsculpting.
