How often is scaling and polishing required after a composite filling?

Doctor's Answer

The usual frequency of scaling and polishing (as advised by your dentist based on your risk profile and oral hygiene status) should be maintained after composites have been placed.

There is no benefit to increasing the frequency after a filling.

Composites will tend to lose their gloss and luster through toothbrushing with toothpaste and the filling will need to be repolished periodically.
