Are certain people more susceptible to colorectal cancer?

Doctor's Answer

For demographics, it is quite strongly age-related, in the sense that approximately 80% of cases would occur to people over the age of 55. It also means that 20% will be younger than 55.

Being young does not necessarily protect you, but most cases are 55 and above. And in terms of racial distribution, interestingly, the Chinese population is more at risk than the Malay population, which is more at risk than the Indian population. It is not clearly understood why but the Chinese population is more at risk.
