What are the possible complications of getting subcision on the forehead?

Doctor's Answer

In general, subcision may be associated with the following if subsequent healing is compromised:

  • bruising,
  • swelling,
  • post-treatment infection and
  • increased scarring.

In areas where the dermis is thin e.g. forehead, around the eyes or the skin is very sebaceous e.g. the nose, subcision may not be the ideal procedure for scar improvement.

Instead, you may consider energy-based resurfacing devices such as fractional CO2 laser and microneedle RF. Do see your preferred Aesthetic Doctor for a face to face consultation to assess your condition and discuss what suitable treatments for best for you.
