Should I avoid a flight after a threadlift due to the change of air pressure?

Doctor's Answer

I advise patients to rest around 5-7 days after a threadlift before flying. This is to allow for the threads to be assimilated into the facial tissues (cells of your skin and subcutaneous tissue start to envelope the threads), and for the face to start the process of draining away the swelling in the face.

The bump you observed may be either a hematoma (traumatized vessels have not healed fully and when your heart rate or BP rises during take off, the vessel starts to leak blood into the traumatized area, causing a hematoma), or the threads being placed too superficially.

A good threadlift places the threads in the subcutaneous tissue and not too near your skin surface, which ensures strong anchorage to the facial tissue (so that it won’t migrate).

Hope this answers your questions!
