What is the success rate of carbamazepine as a treatment option for trigeminal neuralgia?

Doctor's Answer

It is estimated to be about 60%. So about 50-60% of patients have that degree of success. It may not completely eliminate the pain, but the medicine does get it to a manageable level and many patients are happy with that treatment.

So, some patients have come to live with the side effects of carbamazepine and they are ok with that.
