What anti-aging treatments are recommended for a 40 year old lady who has never undergone any aesthetic procedures before?

Doctor's Answer

Hi Ming Lim,

It is a good time to start aesthetic treatments since you are noticing early signs of aging.

There are a wide range of non invasive and minimally invasive treatments in Singapore that can help you to reverse signs of facial aging.

Anti-aging treatments should be customised to your concerns, skin type and facial features.

As this is your first time, I suggest non-invasive treatments with minimal downtime/recovery time.

These treatments include: lasers, high intensity focused ultrasound as well as injectable treatments (Botox/ Filler).

Here are some aesthetic treatments that I recommend based on the signs of aging that you have:

1. Crow's feet Wrinkles: Botox/Dysport/Xeomin are common brands of anti-wrinkle injections in Singapore. Botox relaxes the muscles that cause your expression lines. This helps to prevent wrinkles and deeper lines from forming.

2. Less Supple/ Less Firm Skin: HIFU Ultraformer 3 is a high-intensity focused ultrasound treatment that helps to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which combats loose skin.

3. Sallow Skin: Laser treatments improve your skin tone and reduce fine lines. Common laser treatments include fractional resurfacing lasers (like Fractional CO2, Fractional Pico Laser) and fractional Radio-frequency (tightens skin as well).

You might want to consider Fillers if you have volume loss (eg sunken cheeks, hollow under-eye). Fillers can also be injected at the skin level to boost skin hydration and plumpness.

Don't forget Sunblock as this is a daily essential that prevents aging due to sun damage.

For more details, please consult a doctor for a thorough face-to-face assessment.

Hope this helps!

Warmest regards,

Dr Justin Boey
