Most of the time, the scratching to relieve the itch of eczema results in post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and skin thickening. These so called “scars” will gradually resolve once you stop scratching and allow the skin to heal well.
A regular use of moisturizers will facilitate the healing process. The marks make take many months to gradually fade, though.
