What are the least invasive methods to remove wrinkle lines on the forehead?

Doctor's Answer

Hi,

It is important to distinguish between static wrinkles and dynamic wrinkles.

A. Static wrinkles are fixed wrinkles due to collagen degeneration from aging and tend to occur after the 60’s in Asians.

Static wrinkles may be improved by treatments that result in new collagen formation. These include topical anti-aging creams such as tretinoin, laser resurfacing procedures and filler injections.

B. Dynamic wrinkles are expression lines from hyperactivity of the underlying frontalis muscles and start to occur in the mid 30’s to 40’s.

Dynamic wrinkles on the other hand, improve by reducing the activity of the underlying muscles causing the frown lines. Creams and lasers do not work for dynamic wrinkles. The only treatment that gives consistent and proven results is Botox injections. Botox injections can be safely administered by an experienced and trained doctor. Its effects generally last 4-6 months.

It is best that you consult your preferred Aesthetic doctor for a proper assessment and discussion of what treatments are best suited for you.

Hope this helps!
