That is a good question. I would say that the number one reason people start noticing or realising something is different is photos. When they look at photos of themselves or when somebody comments on their photos, “Hey, why do you look sleepy? Are you unwell or are you tired?” and then they realise that they actually feel fine but wonder why do they look tired or why is there an imbalance in their upper eyelids. So that is one common way to tell.

The second tell-tale sign is when they wake up on certain days, they will be like “Hey, why do I have multiple eyelid creases”, you may be monolid or have a single eyelid, but suddenly wake up and notice that you have multiple creases in one eye or you suddenly wake up and realise one eye is puffier or lower, and then you may have these creases, and that is another tell-tale sign.

Some of my patients will notice obvious forehead wrinkles as they are using their forehead to lift up their eyelids, its compensatory, and then they notice that they are frowning a lot and getting forehead lines then they start getting headaches. I am not saying this procedure can cure headaches because your headaches might be due to other causes but I do have a lot of patients here where their frontal headaches just get a lot better.
