What can be done if PICO Laser pigmentation treatments are unsuccessful?

Doctor's Answer

Hi,

Unfortunately, the picosecond laser is not the end-all for all pigmentation treatment. It is most important that a proper assessment is made by your preferred aesthetic doctor to ascertain the nature of your pigmentation and its predicted response to pigment laser treatment.

Some pigmentation are rather resistant to even the latest pigment laser treatment including pico lasers e.g. dark eye rings, racial pigmentation, PIH, and melasma.

If the identified pigmentation is pigment laser responsive, beyond the pulse duration of the laser (e.g pico vs nano), the wavelength, fluence and repeated sessions needed are all important factors determining the success of pigment laser treatment.

If you are currently under the care of a doctor for your pigmentation, he/she may be the best person to appreciate the above factors highlighted and to advise you what to do next.

Hope this helps!
