What is this wart like swelling in my throat? (photo)

Doctor's Answer

From the picture provided, the growth or swelling on your right tonsil seems benign (non cancerous).

Likely differential diagnosis include papilloma (wart), cyst (collection of mucous), fibroma (scar tissue) or polyp (benign growth from the lining of the tonsil).

I would suggest a visit to an ENT Specialist for a proper assessment. To confirm the diagnosis, an excision biopsy (removal of the lump for analysis in the lump) may be required.

Hope this helps and all the best!
