Which specialist should I see if I have positive antinuclear antibodies (ANA)?

Doctor's Answer

Hi,

I agree with Dr Colin Theng's answer. Some normal people can be positive, but indeed can be a marker of rheumatological, dermatological or some renal inflammatory diseases like lupus.

Therefore, I will just add to get your kidney function checked as well as check for protein and blood leakage in the urine, to be totally sure everything is ok. And if abnormal, hopefully not, to consider referral to a nephrologist as well.

Dr Francisco, wishing you the best possible health.
