Why are mesolipo injections not allowed in Singapore?

Doctor's Answer

Thank you for your question. MOHH ruled in 2015 that such procedures and other similar ones grouped under mesotherapy and carboxytherapy had little scientific merit and are disapproved procedures locally. So as of now, there are no HSA approved injectables that help with fat melting.

However the USA FDA has recently approved a western product for treatment of submental fat (double chin). As Dr Winston mentioned, Singapore tends to be more conservative but we can hope that they will make a revision to the guidelines soon.

Please note that the fda only approved for its use in the double chin area, and it is not yet approved for the other areas due to lack of proper randomised controlled trials and possible side effects like nerve damage, bruising, skin damage and lumpy hardness.

Hope this helps.
