When it comes to food, it is always advised to practice moderation. Overconsumption happens when you are taking more than what your body needs or uses up.
For eg, bodybuilders take whey protein several times a day but they also work out several times a day so their body uses up the protein. If a normal person takes the same amount but doesn't work out as much, then there will be too much protein.
Excess protein will be excreted out by the kidneys and if this happened too often, the kidneys may get damaged.
I would advise you work with a personal trainer and sports nutrionist to better advise you on your required protein intake based on your needs.
