Most dental clinics in Singapore would be able to help you in processing the Medisave for your dental treatment. However you can only claim Medisave for surgical procedures such as
- Wisdom tooth surgery
- Surgical removal of broken roots
- Jaw surgery in certain orthodontic cases
- Dental Implants
- Surgical procedures for root canals, or gum treatment etc
Your dentist would be able to advise you on the various procedures that can be claimed, and also the amount that can be claimed for each procedures, as there is a limit to the Medisave claim submission.
Unfortunately, routine dental procedures such as
- scaling and polishing
- fillings
- crowns and bridges
- root canal treatment
- dentures
cannot be claimed through Medisave.
If cost is of a concern, you might want to check if you are eligible for some government subsidy like CHAS.
The Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) in Singapore enables citizens from lower- to-middle income households, as well as all Pioneers, to receive subsidies for medical and dental care at participating General Practitioner (GP) and dental clinics.
Hope the above information helps!
