What could be the cause of a red weeping patch at my ankle? (photo)

Doctor's Answer

Thanks for the question. Acute eczema often presents as itchy red patches, which can be oozy and weepy. An overlying infection can also cause of the skin to be weepy and crusty.

Eczema on the legs can be caused by various factors such as stasis eczema ie poor venous circulation and contact dermatitis (allergy or irritation from substances applied).

If your rash is still persistent, it would best for you to see your doctor or dermatologist for a proper assessment and treatment.
