What is the best method to correct an atrophic scar on my forehead? (photo)

Doctor's Answer

It appears that you have a slight contour depression in between the brow area. However, I am not certain if it is due to the acne and it does not look like a newly formed scar. An atrophic scar is an indented scar that heals below the normal layer of skin tissue when the skin is unable to regenerate tissue. These can occur due to acne and chickenpox.

This contour irregularity can be treated either with fillers such as hyaluronic acid which lasts 6-9 months and requires repeat treatment or fat grafting can be done to correct the contour defect. That would be a permanent solution once the fat engrafts.
